1,560 units built in New Tiba city: minister of housing

A total of 1,560 new housing units have been constructed in New Tiba city, and are being handed over to beneficiaries, according to the Minister of Housing Mostafa Madbouly.

Madbouly said another 5,352 housing units are being built in the city.

Regarding services and infrastructure in the city, New Tiba City Authority Chairman Ashraf Fathi said the first phase of a power grid for the housing units is being implemented on an area of 480 acres.

The second phase of the power grid, located on an area of 620 acres, is being implemented at a cost of EGP 52.9m, Fathi added.

He added that water and sanitation networks for the first phase of the new housing units are also being completed. A sewage treatment plant was constructed in the first phase with a capacity of 5,000 cubic metres per day, at a cost of EGP 33.2m.

The housing project will contain two play grounds and a youth centre is being constructed on an area of 13 acres, according to Fathi.

“The youth centre was designed according to international and Olympic specifications, with an Olympic-size pool, football, and tennis playground, multiple games, a gym, a building for social activities, and a mosque,” he added.

With regard to development projects being implemented in the city, Fathi said the New Tiba City Authority is in the final stages of developing and raising the efficiency of roads in the second and third neighbourhoods at a cost of EGP 25.6m.

Industrial and tourist routes are being paved at a cost of EGP 47m.

The Authority completed a project to raise the efficiency of the city’s southern entrance at the cost of EGP 22.8m. A project to raise the efficiency of routes for the first phase of the housing project cost EGP 8.4m.
