With two days left for the 2016 Auckland Open’s women’s event in New Zealand, it was not a fortunate event for 18-year-old Latvian tennis player Jeļena Ostapenko.

The issue all started when Ostapenko threw her racket to the back of the court and hit a ball boy, who was not injured. British tennis player Noami Broady, 25, told the chair umpire that Ostapenko threw the racket out of frustration and purposefully, not accidentally.

Ostapenko was issued a cod violence and would go to lose to her competitor Broady in three sets, who advanced to the next round but lost to the 22 year-old US tennis player Sloane Stephens (7-6) (6-3) in the quarter finals.

Although Broady and Ostapenko shook hands at the end of the match, it seemed cold and not genuine. Both were involved in a verbal argument while they were packing.

Broady ranked third worldwide, which surprised the audience in this completions when she won against former number one worldwide 28 years-old Serbian tennis player Ana Ivanovic. Broady’s history in tennis is honourable since he won eight single titles and 13 double ones at the International Tennis Federation Championships.
