Banque Misr saving certificates attract EGP 3.4bn by Tuesday

Savings certificates offered by Banque Misr with a yield of 12.5% increased to attract EGP ​​3.4bn on Tuesday, according to an official source at the bank.

The source noted that all the bank’s branches and units across the republic are continuing to receive citizens who wish to purchase the certificates.

On Sunday, the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) and Banque Misr offered platinum savings certificates with a yield of 12.5% per annum, paid out on monthly basis.

The two banks succeeded in attracting EGP 8.2bn through these certificates on the first two days, of which about EGP 6bn were for NBE certificates, and EGP 1.2bn for Banque Misr certificates.

Daily News Egypt has learned that the NBE certificates succeeded in attracting about EGP 8bn on Tuesday, increasing the total amount of certificates bought to date to EGP 11.5bn.
