Minister of Housing Mostafa Madbouly discussed with the China State Construction Engineering Corporation on Monday areas of work in the Cairo Administrative Capital.

The proposed work of the Chinese company will be presented to the government and the concerned authorities for the agreement.

This came during the minister’s meeting with representatives of the Chinese company, with whom the Minister of Investment signed a preliminary agreement to participate in the implementation of the administrative capital project, during President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s latest visit to China.

Madbouly reviewed the design of the project’s master plan, in order to suggest areas of work for the Chinese company, which has an experience in implementing similar projects, he said.

He said that work will start in areas with different residential, commercial and recreational activities and business centers.

Representatives of the Chinese company asked to participate in the implementation of some governmental buildings in the project. However, Madbouly confirmed the government buildings will be implemented by the government itself.

Representatives of the company presented their abilities and previous experience in the construction of many buildings for Chinese ministries, specifically in Beijing, as well as other countries internationally, including the Foreign Ministry building in Algeria, as well as some buildings in Ethiopia and Yemen.

They also added that the company is constructing two new capitals globally.

Representatives from the company further inquired as to the basic structure of the project, whereby Madbouly pointed out that it is currently connected to the main water line project of the 10th of Ramadan City water station to assist in the implementation of construction.

The line is expected to be completed in three months. Meanwhile, a plan for the electricity services for the project has been agreed upon with the Ministry of Electricity.

Additionally, the Chinese company has expressed its readiness to participate in the implementation of low-income units through its great experience in this area. It highlighted its ability to build high quality units with a high speed of implementation.

It further highlighted its willingness to participate in the implementation of sanitation projects in Upper Egypt and some Delta governorates. The Ministry of Housing is set to provide to the company with all the data on these projects, to participate in their implementation.

Madbouly further pointed out that the company representatives said they are prepared to accept various methods of financing, including external financing and the participation of the government in the implementation, or to provide it as a loan to the Egyptian government.
