The Asian Banker awarded the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) with the award for best Egyptian retail bank for the third time since 2012.

The evaluation includes the size of the retail banking portfolio, including all kinds of cards and its annual growth rates, in addition to the service quality in the branches and online banking services quality. It also includes the number of services provided through the ATM network, the point-of-sale (POS) and developing all retail products and the annual growth rates.

The Asian Banker’s jury evaluated the Egyptian banks based upon the size of their portfolios of banking services for individuals, and the diversity and rate of growth, whereby the NBE showed development in this area.

The number of NBE’s ATM machines reached 1,950 machines, an increase of 415 machine from the previous year, accounting for nearly one- third of the market. The number of POS machines increased to 11,200 machines, with an increase rate of 22%, beside their 350 branches nationwide.
