Leading lubricants company Shell Egypt launched its new Shell Helix Ultra motor oil products with patented Shell PurePlus technology during an event held at the JW Marriott on 6 April. The company said that PurePlus technology delivers higher levels of protection against the build-up of engine deposits and unsurpassed sludge protection.

The product line also provides “superior wear and corrosion protection” that can help extend the engine’s life and reduce maintenance costs.

Vice president of marketing lubricants at Shell Andrew Hepher said that the rapid developments in the automobile technology indicate that the industry needs motor oils that can keep pace with such developments. He added that such oils should improve vehicles’ performance and the engine’s life.

“This is why Shell has developed an entirely new way to produce synthetic base oils, made from natural gas with patented Shell PurePlus Technology. This pure, clear base oil enables Shell to develop superior lubricants,” Hepher added.

Vice president and country chairman for Shell Egypt Jeroen Regtien and managing director of Shell Lubricants Saher Hashem were among the attendees at the event, along with Mediterranean Cluster Marketing Manager Bendetto Forlani.

“The comprehensive line of multi-fuel passenger car motor oils ranges from mineral oils Shell Helix HX3 and HX5, and HX7 oils with synthetic technology, to top-of-the-range Shell Helix Ultra,” the company said.

In November, the sole authorised dealer for Skoda Artoc Auto Egyot renewed its contract with Shell, making the company its main lubricant supplier for five years.

Artoc Auto Egypt said that Shell was chosen due to its dedication to technological advancement in the lubricants and oils industry.
