Interim President Adly Mansour returned from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday, having already visited Kuwait in what marks his second overseas tour as head of state.

Mansour met with UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan “to tackle the latest regional and international developments,” said a statement published on the State Information Service on Friday. Mansour also thanked the UAE for “its support for the will of the Egyptian people and their 30 June Revolution.”

The interim president also met with Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Wednesday to discuss strengthening relations between Egypt and the Gulf state.

Interim Prime Minister Hazem El-Beblawi had returned earlier this week from a trip to the UAE after a three day visit.

Mansour has now visited four countries in his capacity as interim president, having also visited Jordan and Saudi Arabia earlier in October.

The three gulf countries – Kuwait, the UAE and Saudi Arabia – have pledged billions of dollars in aid to Egypt, following the ouster of former President Mohamed Morsi on 3 July. All four countries Mansour visited were quick to support the change in power that swept Egypt on 3 July.
