The prosecution decided, on Tuesday, that Adel Habara and two others will be detained for 15 days for interrogation in the killings of 25 Central Security Forces soldiers in Rafah last August, state owned news agency MENA reported.

40- year old Adel Mohamed Ibrahim, also known as Adel Habara, was arrested last Saturday while hiding out in Al-Arish. He had hand grenades in his possession at the time of his arrest.

Habara, who was sentenced to death in absentia for participating in the 2005 Dahab and Taba attacks, reportedly admitted to committing the Rafah killings during his arrest.

The other two were also accused of participating in the attacks on security forces and checkpoints in Arish, and participating, with Habara, in the Rafah soldiers’ killings.

According to a military spokesman, an armed assault on two buses carrying the soldiers in the Matala region in Rafah resulted in the execution-style killings of 25 CSF soldiers, which took place on 19 August 2013.

Minister of Interior, Mohamed Ibrahim, said in a TV interview that Sinai will be “terrorist-free” in 2013.
