Egypt’s second annual Cityscape exhibition, hosted the Ministry of Housing and Urban Communities in Cairo, is set to launch on 28 March and lasts for four days.

A number of real estate development companies announced that they would be participating in the conference, which they hoped would help demonstrate the durability of Egypt’s economy.

Ayman Sami, director of the Real Estate Investment Company, stated that there were still a number of obstacles and challenges facing investors working in Egypt’s real estate sector as a result of circumstances stemming from the outbreak of Egypt’s 25 January Revolution, pointing out that the market was constantly subject to uncertainty depending on the ebb and flow of political stability in the country. He did, however, point out the successes of the last 2012 Cityscape conference, which “defied expectations and saw the sale of large amounts of Egyptian real estate”.

Commercial Director of Informa Exhibitions Chris Speller, which hosts Cityscape, said that this year’s exhibition would be larger than last year’s, with an additional hall being rented out at the Cairo International Conference Centre (CICC) to accommodate the 25% increase in the number of exhibitors expected compared to last year.
