We are undoubtedly a beach culture come the summer months, and it’s interesting to now see cheap goods made in China replaced with locally-produced goods in some stores. Think of it as an act of patriotism when stocking up on beach accessories this season: the choices are plenty and beautiful.
Handbag brand Nuniz by designer Nadia Zarkani has created a beautiful PVC beach tote large enough to throw in towel, sunscreen and other essentials. With a key of life charm hanging down oh so casually, the bright colors of blue, green, orange or yellow make this a cheerful partner to get through the summer months with. The bag is available at Amuze Lifestyle Concept store for LE 290.
The Egyptian flip flop brand, Shibshibi, which debuted last year, has released another creatively designed flip flops with oriental-inspired designs and patterns, tassels, ribbons and pompoms added to the straps of the flip flop. With a line for women and young girls, the prices are set at LE 140 for an adult pair and LE 100 for little feet. Shibishibi flip flops can be found in various outlets.
Of course, to go with beach bag and flip flops, a towel is needed and new brand Foota Towels has taken advantage of Egypt’s most luxurious cotton to produce sumptuously soft towels. With fun colorful designs and measuring at 100 by 180 cm, these towels are great for both children and adults alike. The towels would make for great gifts as well this summer. The towels sell for LE 150 a piece.
So far, Foota Towels are available at a pop up concept store in the Diplomatic Village 3 on the North Coast, and there are expansion plans to produce more and sell them in various outlets this summer including in Cairo and Ain Sokhna.
