CAIRO: Nigerian striker John Owoeri will join Ismaili from Heartland in January, Dervishes chairman Nassr Aboul-Hassan confirmed.

"We reached a three-year contract agreement with Owoeri. He will join us in January," Aboul-Hassan said.

The Ismaili chairman refused to reveal any further details of the deal though.

Owoeri, 23, joined Heartland from Nigerian champions Enyimba in 2009 and seems to have impressed Ismaili boss Mark Wotte over the two Champions League games this term.

Wotte already has an embarrassment of riches in his attack department, with no less than five forwards competing for a first-team place.

Nigerian Godwin Ndubuisi and Ahmed Ali are currently first-choice strikers as Mostafa Gaafar, Mohamed Abou-Greisha and Moroccan international Abdessalam Benjelloun back up.
