CAIRO: Zamalek striker Junior Agogo joined Cypriot side Apollon Limassol without the Cairo giants consent.

The Ghana striker said on Wednesday he has penned a two-year contract with Apollon.

It is a very good opportunity for me to get things back together after my disappointment with Zamalek, Agogo was quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

Zamalek signed the 30-year-old last summer from English side Nottingham Forest on a three-year deal.

He failed to live up to expectations though and was involved in several disputes with Zamalek board over his dues.

Agogo skipped training in the latter stages of last season to prompt the White Knights to file a complaint against him to world governing body FIFA.

He unilaterally rescinded his contract with Zamalek but the club demanded ?1 million in compensation.

I ve been through a very hard time and now is the time to get all those troubles behind me and concentrate, Agogo said.
