Ahly duo back to training

CAIRO: Ahly duo Hossam Ashour and Hussein Yasser have got back to training after recovering from their injuries.

According to the Cairo giants official website, both midfielders took part in Monday s session and participated in a practice match afterwards.

The recently-recovered pair was scheduled take part in another special training session later Monday to work on their fitness alongside playmaker Mohamed Abou-Trika, who just returned from a medical check-up in Germany.

Ashour was suffering a severe thigh muscle knock that he picked up during the 1-0 win over Ismaili in the Egyptian Premier League. Yasser pulled a hamstring when he was on international duty with Qatar during the 19th Gulf Cup.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Al-Sayed is close to returning to action as he has finally overcome his ankle injury.

Medical staff chief Ihab Ali stated that the defender s condition has noticeably improved after he had undergone a rehabilitation program.

Ahly are aiming to defeat Gaish in the last rescheduled league game in order to cement their place at the table summit.

The six-time African champions lie first with 32 points, two ahead of second-placed Petrojet.
