CAIRO: This is one of the oddest but most amusing of complaints that might have ever come to the media’s notice.

An Iraqi widow who resided with her Egyptian mother-in-law in Qena, Upper Egypt, has reported her kids’ grandmother to the police. Having heard that former president Saddam Hussein was hanged, she turned out her dead son’s family branding all Iraqis disloyal for having approved of their leader’s execution, Al Akhbar reported.

The widow who had married an Egyptian she had met in Iraq a few years ago retuned along with him to Egypt to live in Farshut, Qena.

But when the husband died she brought up their six children along with her mother-in-law. They got along together until news of Saddam’s hanging broke on TV. The mother-in-law began criticizing all Iraqis, threw her daughter-in-law and the kids out of house and swore she would disinherit them. Police is calling the mother-in-law in an attempt to reconcile her to her daughter.
