CAIRO: With spring in full swing, it is the ideal time to focus on the most popular trends on the fashion runways that can be incorporated into your wardrobe in Egypt. With few changes this season, or no changes in some cases, both men and women have a lot to choose from to quench their fashion thirst.

While skirts cuts have changed from last season and dresses are now acceptable at every occasion, pink maintained its dominance over men s fashion.

This year femininity is booming. After decades of boyish fashions, trendsetters have decided to reinforce the classic concept of a woman. Ruffles, bows and neutral colors are among the favored these days as they reflect the female mystique. The top items that define this, however, are skirts. Although it never becomes démodé, it is especially hot on the fashion charts these days; this is besides dresses for every occasion.

Women have always loved dresses, but usually save them for their best occasions. This season designers have created several variations of casual dresses for work or simply kicking back.

The shirt dress is probably the most popular; the not-too-tight cut is flattering as it emphasizes the waist line and hides a heavy lower body. This look is best in nude shades, which have ruled the runways this season.

Now when it comes to finding the perfect skirt for the season, try to avoid last year s “boho or gipsy look; clean cut is the trend this year. A three-quarters tiered skirt is a cute option as it is not too puffy yet is floaty, comfortable and ultra feminine. Always team your skirt with a neat or close fitting top because there is already lots of volume in your lower half.

As for the men, this season you have to think pink, again. Last year a breakthrough phenomenon took place when pink became the top color for men, and this year the trend continues just as strong.

Pink has always been an alluring color with singers, songs and brand names so it is no surprise that it is flourishing. Maybe it is because pink is flattering for almost all skin tones, or maybe simply because pink is a calming color that exudes confidence and sensitivity.

Incorporating the color into the daily wardrobe is easier than expected. For starters, the color is easy to coordinate. Black, navy blue, gray, white and beige all complement perfectly.

Also, your pink item can be a sweater, a t-shirt, a dress shirt and even a suit and tie.
