For the first time in parliamentary history, MPs representing the governorate of Alexandria met to form an ‘Alexandria MP Bloc’.

Ahmed El-Sherif, a member of the House of Representatives for Al-Nour Party in Alexandria, said independent MPs as well as those representing parties are in agreement regarding cooperation and coordination. He added that they feel responsible for Alexandria. “We will cooperate for the best interest of the people,” he noted.

El-Sherif said MPs understand the responsibility they have during the phase Egypt is currently going through. “We also understand the regulatory and legislative role we have,” he said.

MP Haitham Abu Al-Ezz Al-Hariri said the bloc will serve the governorate and its people and overcome all differences between parties and members of the parliament through cooperating with all currents, including the Al-Nour party.
