Over 1,000 Saudi businessmen and companies in various sectors are expected to attend the March Economic Summit, director-general of the Saudi-Egyptian Businessmen Association (SEBA) Ahmed Darwish revealed Sunday.

Darwish has expressed, in a statement, his willingness to extent the period of the summit, scheduled to take place between 13-15 March in Sharm El-Sheikh, to a full week.

Egypt’s government has sent invitations to more than 6,000 businessmen and 120 countries to participate in the summit.

The Economic Summit will be a unique opportunity for global investors, especially with the recent positive economic turnaround, said UAE Minister of State Sultan Al-Jaber.

The statement was made during a session organised by the Economic Summit team with various Emirati entities on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), according to a statement released Saturday.

Al-Jaber added his country, under the leadership of President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Prime Minister and ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashed Al-Maktoum and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nayhan, is honoured to play “a strong supportive role” alongside Saudi Arabia in supporting Egypt.

The Emirati minister stressed the significance of amending laws, regulations and investor protection programmes.
