Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, inspected the ECPC Conciles factory for the production of prestressed concrete in 10th of Ramadan City, in the presence of Khaled Hashem, Minister of Industry; Eric Chevallier, Ambassador of France to Egypt; Ahmed Serry, Managing Director of the company; and Vivian Girou, Factory Manager.
The Investment Minister was briefed on the company’s activities and manufacturing capabilities. He also inspected the laboratory and the various production stages for prestressed concrete pipes, as well as the casting and concrete segments used in metro projects and other concrete products.
Farid stressed the importance of supporting existing investments and maximising available production capacities, noting that this would contribute to increasing production and local manufacturing while creating jobs. He also highlighted the importance of boosting exports by existing companies and opening new markets for Egyptian products.
He stressed the government’s commitment to facilitating investors’ operations and coordinating among relevant authorities to address challenges, as well as supporting export procedures and access to foreign markets.
For his part, Ahmed Serry, Managing Director of the company, expressed the company’s appreciation for its fruitful cooperation with various government entities and development partners in Egypt. He noted that the achievements made over the past years reflect mutual trust and a shared commitment to supporting the state’s sustainable development plans and infrastructure development.
He added that the company continues to work on enhancing local manufacturing, transferring technology, and developing Egyptian talent, contributing to the provision of advanced engineering solutions that support national projects and align with the state’s investment and development targets.
Vivian Girou, Factory Manager, said the company represents a model of Egyptian-French cooperation since its establishment in 1978, combining Egyptian industrial capabilities with European engineering expertise to support national and strategic projects, transfer technology, and develop national skills.
He explained that the company spans more than 200,000 square metres, with an annual production capacity exceeding 300,000 tonnes. It operates across the water, transport, energy, and industrial sectors and has contributed to the implementation of several major projects, including the Mostakbal Misr project, the New Administrative Capital, Sinai development, Toshka, and the Greater Cairo Metro.
ECPC is an Egyptian-French investment with current investments of around $20 million. It employs 816 people, while its local component stands at approximately 98%. Established in 1978, the company operates a factory in 10th of Ramadan City.
The visit also included discussions on opportunities to maximise the utilisation of existing production capacities and increase exports, in addition to facilitating logistics services, access to foreign markets, and the international promotion of the company’s products.
