President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi attended the graduation ceremony of the third training course for Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) imams, known as the Imam Hassan al-Attar Class, at the Egyptian Military Academy in the New Administrative Capital.
According to a presidential statement, the ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Defence Minister Ashraf Zaher, Endowments Minister Osama al-Azhari, and other senior officials.
Ahead of the graduation, the president inaugurated the academy’s new Safwa Hall and received a briefing on its facilities and capabilities.
The event featured presentations on the trainees’ educational and training programme, documentary films showcasing their academic projects, and the formal announcement of graduation results, followed by the graduates’ oath-taking ceremony.
Endowments Minister Osama al-Azhari explained that the programme aims to prepare a new generation of imams with strong academic, physical, and national qualifications, supporting efforts to promote moderate religious discourse and reinforce national values.
During the ceremony, Al-Sisi honoured the top ten graduates and directed authorities to explore opportunities for them to pursue postgraduate studies, including potential overseas scholarships for outstanding participants.
The presidency noted that the programme reflects ongoing cooperation between the Ministry of Endowments and the Egyptian Military Academy to enhance the scientific, cultural, and communication skills of religious preachers.
The ceremony concluded with the national anthem, after which Al-Sisi toured several facilities, including the main dining hall and the VIP lounge at the newly inaugurated venue.
