Welzy Securities Brokerage, a subsidiary of Act Financial, has announced the appointment of Walaa El-Hendy as Head of Brokerage and Executive Board Member, as part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its brokerage operations and support its expansion plans in the Egyptian capital market.
El-Hendy brings more than 20 years of professional experience in capital markets, trading management, business development, and securities brokerage. Throughout her career, she has held several leadership positions at major investment banks and financial institutions, including CI Capital Holding, Beltone Financial Holding, and Mubasher Securities Brokerage.
Her professional journey in the non-banking financial sector began with roles focused on retail brokerage and client development. She worked in the retail division at CI Capital before later serving as Head of Retail Sales at Beltone Financial Holding, where she contributed to expanding the client base, increasing trading volumes, and enhancing commercial performance.
El-Hendy also served as Trading Department Manager and Deputy Managing Director at Mubasher Securities Brokerage, where she played a key role in leading trading operations, supporting business growth, and improving operational and commercial efficiency within the brokerage sector.
She holds a Master of Business Administration from ESLSCA University, in addition to several professional certificates in portfolio management, internal auditing, and technical and financial analysis. These qualifications support her broad expertise across management, investment, compliance, and market analysis.
Welzy said the appointment reflects its confidence in El-Hendy’s leadership capabilities and her strong track record in developing brokerage businesses, leading teams, and expanding investor bases.
In her new role, El-Hendy will lead Welzy’s brokerage strategy, enhance the company’s trading and client service capabilities, and support its growth and expansion plans. She will also focus on delivering a more efficient and innovative investment experience for investors in the Egyptian capital market.
The appointment comes as Welzy seeks to strengthen its position in securities brokerage and capitalize on growth opportunities in Egypt’s non-banking financial services sector.
