Egypt is keen on continuing its strategic relations with the US, praising the support and the military assistance provided by Washington over the past three decades, especially in these circumstances as Egypt is fighting terrorism and extremism. This was stated by the Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly to the delegates from the American Jewish Committee (AJC) on Sunday, in the presence of the Assistant Foreign Minister for American Affairs, Ambassador Reda Habib.

Madbouly praised the AJC’s significant role in enhancing the bilateral relations between Egypt and the US, and the committee’s keenness to continue consultation and coordination with Egypt regarding regional and international issues of common interests.

On the other hand, the AJC’s delegates noted that Egypt is the pillar of stability in the Middle East and that it is an indispensable partner of the US.

Moreover, the delegates praised the Egyptian government’s attention to the renovation of the Jewish monuments in Egypt and safeguarding the historical manuscripts. Madbouly responded that the Jewish monuments are an integral part of Egypt’s history and cultural heritage, just as the Islamic and Christian monuments, hence the government is renovating and maintaining the Jewish ones, especially in the light of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s eagerness to spread the values of citizenship and equality among all Egyptian citizens.

Nader Saad, the cabinet’s spokesperson, stated that the delegation stressed on the determination of the AJC to contribute toward strengthening the cooperation relations between Egypt and the US, thus they are communicating with the Egyptian ambassador in Washington, Yasser Reda, in order to serve Egypt’s and the US’  common interests.

Madbouly received on Sunday a delegation from the AJC which is visiting Egypt in order to discuss and boost the bilateral relations.
