The Franco-Egyptian Health Forum is set to start on 19 November to discuss the implementation of the new Health Insurance Law and pharmaceutical sector reforms, and exchange expertise in the health field.

The forum will be inaugurated by the French ambassador in Egypt Stephane Romatet, and will be attended by the Egyptian ministers of finance, investment and international cooperation, health, and higher education.

The group was organised by French health companies, the French embassy in Cairo, the French Development Agency (AFD), the Business France, and Al-Ahram Hebdo. The forum will bring together experts, companies, and decision-makers from both countries, including President of Federation of Private Hospitals Lamine Gharbi, President of the Health Task Force of MEDEF International, and Director General of the Saint-Joseph Hospital Group Jean-Patrick Lajonchère.

During this forum, a delegation of French health companies, members of the French business movement (MEDEF), led by Gharbi, will travel to Cairo from 17 to 19 November to establish contacts with all the actors of Egypt’s health sector and to present the French expertise, particularly specialised in several sectors, especially in medical equipment, e-health or strategic and operational advice.

These two days will allow French companies to promote concrete solutions to support the Egyptian authorities in the reform of the health care sector, which has been positioned as a national priority by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.

Moreover, Egyptian authorities will present the government’s strategy in the health sector, the progress state of the ongoing reforms and their expectations in terms of support by French partners.
