The Ministry of Supply is holding discussions with local banks and international financial institutions to fund the ministry’s trade record project, Minister of Supply Khaled Hanafy told Daily News Egypt.

On the sidelines of the PPP Investment Summit launched on Monday, Hanafy said they will reach a final agreement with regards to funding during the current fiscal quarter, which ends in December.

During his speech at the summit, Hanafy said his ministry is issuing a project through private-public partnership (PPP), to develop the trade records and trademarks. This sector is not electronically developed, and it will help the private sector to access information related to trade flow, according to Hanafy.

The project will connect around 4m commercial establishments, which will help decision makers find more information on the trade market in Egypt.

The project will be followed by an intelligence unit that includes market data, trademark data and information on consumption, Hanafy said.
