Tarek Moharram, managing director of the Arab International Company for Hotels and Tourism, which owns the Ramsis Hilton Hotel, signed on Sunday a renovation contract with Mohamed El-Taher Frahan of EHAF Consulting Engineers.

The renovation project will cost an estimated $52 million and is set to start in January 2011, to be completed over three stages ending in late 2013. The process will include incorporating high standard designs that meet international standards of quality set by the Hilton Hotels brand internationally.

The Hilton Ramsis Hotel opened in 1982 and now boasts 855 rooms, most of which have a view of the Nile.
