Minister of State for Military Production Salah Gamblat met with Ahmed El Assar, Founder and Managing Director of Masar for Consultancy and Business Development, and Sherif Barakat, Chief Executive Officer of Thales Egypt, to review progress on ongoing cooperation and explore opportunities to expand their partnership in communications equipment and electronics manufacturing.
During the meeting, Gamblat reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to implementing the political leadership’s directives to localise advanced industrial technologies, deepen domestic manufacturing, and enhance the competitiveness of Military Production companies’ products to meet local demand and expand into export markets.
He also stressed the importance of strengthening partnerships with leading international companies to support technology transfer, attract investment, and contribute to the national economy.
The discussions reviewed progress on existing areas of cooperation and examined plans to manufacture communications equipment components at Benha Electronic Industries Company (Military Factory 144). The initiative aims to integrate production into global supply chains through Thales Benha, which was described as a successful model of Egyptian-French cooperation in military communications.
According to the ministry, the project is expected to facilitate the transfer of advanced technology and industrial expertise while strengthening Egypt’s manufacturing capabilities in high-value communications and electronics industries.
Gamblat instructed ministry officials to provide all necessary support to establish stronger industrial partnerships with Thales and to make promising investment opportunities available across Military Production companies in a manner that serves the interests of both parties while supporting the state’s efforts to attract investment and localise advanced technologies.
He added that the Ministry of Military Production places great importance on maximising the advanced manufacturing, technological and technical capabilities of its affiliated companies to meet domestic market requirements before expanding into export markets.
“The ministry is working to strengthen the competitiveness of Military Production companies’ products while supporting Egypt’s ambition to become a regional hub for the manufacture and export of communications equipment and electronic devices,” Gamblat said.
Ahmed El Assar said the partnership between the Ministry of Military Production and Thales represents an important step towards localising advanced technology industries and expanding domestic manufacturing capabilities.
He affirmed Masar for Consultancy and Business Development’s commitment to supporting cooperation between the two sides and helping achieve their shared industrial and technological objectives.
Sherif Barakat, CEO of Thales Egypt, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to expanding cooperation with the Ministry of Military Production, praising the industrial, technological and human capabilities, as well as the advanced infrastructure, available across the ministry’s affiliated companies.
He said these strengths provide a solid foundation for implementing joint projects that will accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies, deepen local manufacturing, strengthen Egypt’s integration into global supply chains, and create greater opportunities to expand exports to international markets.
