Salah Suleiman Gemblat, Minister of State for Military Production, held talks with Karim Farag, Executive Vice President of SC Johnson for the Asia and Australia region, to explore areas of mutual interest and potential joint cooperation.

Gemblat reaffirmed the ministry’s openness to establishing productive strategic partnerships with local and international institutions and companies in ways that serve shared interests and support Egypt’s industrial development objectives.

He said deepening local manufacturing, particularly through the integration of artificial intelligence applications, is a key priority for the Ministry of Military Production in the coming period. Among the ministry’s broader goals, he added, are the localisation of advanced technologies, attraction of further investment, expansion of exports to reduce the import bill, and the optimal utilisation of available resources and assets.

The minister also highlighted efforts to leverage surplus production capacities at companies affiliated with the ministry to manufacture high-quality civilian products at competitive prices. Such steps, he noted, would enhance the ministry’s contribution to implementing national projects and support the state’s drive towards comprehensive development.

For his part, Farag praised the Ministry of Military Production as a cornerstone of Egypt’s defence manufacturing sector and one of the country’s most significant industrial arms. He said SC Johnson, which operates in the production of air fresheners and insecticides, is keen to open new avenues of cooperation with the ministry’s affiliated companies, citing their advanced manufacturing, technological and human capabilities.

He added that these strengths lay the groundwork for a promising partnership between the two sides across a range of manufacturing fields.
