Major General Mokhtar Abdel Latif, chairperson of the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI), inspected the first production units of the Arab-Swiss Elevator Company in Madinaty as part of a programme to localise elevator manufacturing in Egypt.

The project is a collaboration between the AOI, Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG), and global firm Schindler to manufacture, assemble, and test elevator components for various real estate and housing projects in the country.

During an inspection of two elevators in the B8 area of Madinaty, Abdel Latif said the partnership reflects the AOI’s strategy to attract investment and enhance cooperation with major Egyptian private sector firms and international companies.

The manufacturing project is based on engineering studies conducted at the Kader Factory for Developed Industries, an AOI affiliate, to determine the necessary local content levels for the project’s execution phases.

Abdel Latif stated that the AOI supports the reliance on local industry and the maximisation of domestic components to achieve full local manufacturing and technology transfer. He noted that the scale of urban development across Egypt provides an opportunity for the domestic industry to compete in meeting the requirements of national projects.

The Arab-Swiss Elevator Company remains committed to the established delivery schedule and all standard environmental and technical specifications, Abdel Latif added. He further noted the AOI’s focus on participating in national projects for the Ministry of Housing, state institutions, and the private sector.
