Egyptian health tech startup Rology has won the $100,000 grand prize at Meta’s AMET AI Accelerator Pitch Competition for its innovative AI-powered teleradiology platform.
Rology’s solution automates X-ray report generation through a dynamic system that mimics clinical reasoning.
The announcement was made at the conclusion of the AMET AI Summit in Dubai, a two-day event that brought together government leaders, startups, academics, and industry experts from across Africa, the Middle East, and Turkey.
“At Meta, we believe the next wave of global innovation will come from local ecosystems,” said Kojo Boakye, Meta’s Vice President of Public Policy for the region. “Through regional initiatives like the AMET AI Accelerator… we’re empowering developers, startups, and researchers to create localised AI-powered solutions with wider social and economic impact at scale.”
The AMET AI Accelerator Program invited startups from eight countries, including Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Senegal, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the UAE. Each country hosted a national AI accelerator over a 6–8 week incubation period, with the top startup from each country advancing to the final pitch in Dubai.
As the grand prize winner, Rology will also have ongoing access to Meta’s partner engineering resources, as well as continued mentorship and technical support.
Other finalists included EveryHuman from the UAE, a generative AI-powered scent creation platform; Juleb from Saudi Arabia, which provides integrated cloud systems for the health sector; and MARMAR from Nigeria, an AI-native mobile platform that helps eliminate medication errors.
The AI summit also featured a series of high-level discussions exploring the intersection of innovation and governance and the role of collaborative policy frameworks in accelerating responsible AI adoption across the AMET region.
