Amer Holding Group (Amer Group) has announced that its subsidiary, Tropi 2 for Development, has obtained a licence from Egypt’s General Authority for Tourism Development to launch a new phase of the Porto Sokhna project, named Polotano, with estimated investments exceeding EGP 5bn.

The Polotano phase will introduce 2,086 mixed-use units—both residential and commercial—serving as a natural extension of the Porto Sokhna resort, which has been operational since 2007. Spanning 2.5 million square meters and rising 270 meters above sea level, Porto Sokhna is already a flagship destination offering a diverse range of attractions including the first polo fields on the Red Sea, a horse-riding school, sports facilities, an aqua park, Egypt’s first mountain lazy river in Ain Sokhna, and the largest spa on the Red Sea, covering 4,000 sqm.

Sales from the new Polotano phase are expected to exceed EGP 8bn, with the official launch of unit sales set for Q4 2025. Revenue will be generated progressively throughout the construction and sales cycle, with the project projected to deliver strong cash flows and stable medium- to long-term profits for Amer Group.

Sherif Khalil, CEO of Amer Group, described the new phase as a significant upgrade to Porto Sokhna, offering a more advanced living experience. He emphasized that the expansion reflects both confidence in Egypt’s real estate market and Amer Group’s ongoing strategy to build sustainable, integrated communities.

Nihal Issa, Chief Marketing Officer of Amer Group, noted that Polotano will introduce modern units and innovative experiences that enhance Porto Sokhna’s reputation as a leading destination on the Red Sea coast.

Mohamed Saeed, CEO of Tropi 2 for Development, added that the new phase will also include major hotel renovations, expanding capacity to 200 rooms, alongside beach enhancements and infrastructure upgrades to accommodate a growing number of visitors.

Porto Sokhna remains one of Egypt’s pioneering integrated tourism communities, blending leisure, hospitality, retail, and water sports. The resort already features the country’s first cable car, an amusement park, kids’ clubs, private beaches, a full-service spa, and a large coastal shopping mall.
