Majid Al Futtaim, the leading developer and operator of shopping malls, communities, retail, and leisure destinations across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, has reached a new investment milestone with the opening of its 100th retail store in Egypt—and its first Carrefour in Suez governorate.
The launch reinforces the Group’s long-standing confidence in the Egyptian market, where it has operated for over two decades. It also reflects Majid Al Futtaim’s continued efforts to expand into strategic locations, improve access to high-quality goods and services, and contribute meaningfully to Egypt’s social and economic development in line with Egypt Vision 2030.
The new Carrefour store spans 900 square meters and offers over 7,000 products, including fresh and frozen food, bakery items, household essentials, and home appliances—catering to a wide range of consumer needs.
Speaking at the store’s opening, Abdallah Ramadan, Deputy Governor of Suez, stated: “The inauguration of Carrefour in Suez reflects the value of public-private partnerships in driving economic development. It highlights our shared commitment to enhancing market stability, creating job opportunities, and improving quality of life for our citizens.”

Significantly, 99% of Carrefour’s in-store products are locally sourced, underscoring the Group’s strong support for the local economy.
