The Sharjah Formula 1 team secured a decisive win in the opening round of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship, held on Lake Toba in Indonesia, with driver Rusty Wyatt steering the No. 17 boat to first place.

Wyatt built on a sprint race victory to take maximum points from the event, Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS, reported.

The opening race saw a field of international teams compete at the start of a multi-stage world championship series that features high-speed powerboat racing. The race format includes qualifying rounds, sprint races, and a main race where points are awarded based on finishing positions.

This year’s Formula 1 championship calendar is expected to include races in the Middle East, with details on specific locations and dates to be announced.
