Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly has issued a decree to form a “crisis committee” under his leadership to monitor the repercussions of military operations between Iran and Israel.
The committee’s objective is to ensure preparedness for any new developments across various sectors, according to a statement from cabinet spokesperson Mohamed El-Homsany.
The committee’s members include the governor of the Central Bank of Egypt and the ministers of industry; planning and economic development; electricity and renewable energy; finance; supply and internal trade; and petroleum and mineral resources.
It will also include representatives from the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Interior, the General Intelligence Service (GIS) “El Mukhabarat El ‘Amma”, and the Administrative Control Authority.
The spokesperson said the prime minister will meet with the committee members periodically and is also intensifying meetings with other advisory committees to discuss the repercussions of the recent events and their impact on various sectors.
