The Egyptian Senate, headed by Abdel Wahab Abdel Razek, approved Sunday a draft law on the establishment of the Digital Egypt Fund.

The Digital Egypt Fund aims to activate several digital services and promote digital transformation to ensure sustainability.

Furthermore, it supports the various state sectors to implement relevant plans and initiatives, spreads awareness of digital services, and provides economic returns and finances that enable the state sectors to provide their services optimally.

The draft law aims to eliminate digital illiteracy by encouraging citizens to rely on digital transactions.

It fulfils the constitutional obligation in Article 25 to eliminate digital literacy among citizens of all ages and to develop mechanisms for digital transformation in a clear time plan.
