Health Minister discusses cooperation with ambassadors of Jordan, France

Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, received Amjad Al-Adayleh, the ambassador of Jordan to Cairo, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in the health sector between the two countries, the ministry said in a statement on Monday.

At the beginning of the meeting, the minister stressed the depth of the strategic relations between Egypt and Jordan, stressing the importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of public health, to ensure the upgrading of health services provided to the citizens of the two brotherly countries.

Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that the minister affirmed the provision of all means of support to Jordan in addressing Hepatitis C, by receiving specialists from Jordan, and training them on accurate diagnostic methods, to benefit from the Egyptian experiences.

Abdel Ghaffar added that the meeting dealt with the possibility of registering Jordanian medicines in Egypt, as well as providing support to the kingdom in addressing chronic diseases.

 

He noted that the two sides discussed coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to train Jordanian medical students at the Egyptian Ministry of Health hospitals in a number of medical specialties, with the aim of refining the expertise of medical personnel, to ensure the upgrading of the health sector in Jordan.

 

For his part, the ambassador of Jordan thanked Abdel Ghaffar for his efforts to provide all means of support to upgrade the health system and address many diseases that affect the health security of citizens in Jordan, and for the great support provided by Egypt to Jordan during the coronavirus pandemic.

 

Moreover, Abdel Ghaffar received French ambassador to Egypt, Marc Baretti, to discuss strengthening means of cooperation between the two countries.

 

During the meeting, the minister was keen to review the Egyptian state’s strategy to improve the quality of health services provided to citizens, and its constant keenness to develop and raise the efficiency of medical facilities, as well as follow the latest treatment protocols, to raise and improve the public health of citizens.

 

The meeting dealt with discussing cooperation in the field of building green facilities, as the minister reviewed the achievements made at Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital, as the first model of green facilities, in addition to discussing the exchange of visits between health officials to exchange experiences in the field of hospital management systems and basic and preventive health care.
