Egypt expressed on Saturday its deep condemnation of a bombing that occurred in a mosque in the western Afghan city of Herat, which led to the death of dozens of innocents and the injury of several others.

Egypt expressed its sincere condolences to all the relatives of the victims and its wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured, reiterating its condemnation and rejection of all forms of violence, extremism, and terrorism.

At least 47 people were killed on Friday in a violent explosion targeting one of the largest mosques in Herat in western Afghanistan, including an influential imam who weeks ago demanded the beheading of all those who oppose the Taliban regime.
