South Korean Ambassador in Egypt, Hong Jin-wook, says the embassy exerts great efforts to enhance cooperation in the field of youth and sports between two countries as part of its public diplomacy policies.

His remarks came on the sidelines of the embassy’s reception of young Egyptian table tennis player Hana Goda, ahead of her visit to Korea to participate in a joint training camp with the Korean national table tennis team this month.

This event is to support Hana’s stay in Korea so that she could adapt to the new environment as early as possible and focus on her training.

Ambassador Hong Jin-wook wished Hana to enjoy her training experience in Korea and that it would be of great help to her growth into a world-class table tennis player.

The ambassador noted that “Hana” means “One” in Korean language, and he believes she will be the world’s number one in table tennis. He also wished that Hana’s visit would become a catalyst for a full-fledged exchange between the two countries in the sports field as well.

After the meeting with Ambassador Hong, Hana played friendly table tennis games with the embassy staff, and tried various Korean cuisine dishes.
