Al-Sisi hails continued development of Egypt-Jordan relationship

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi hailed on Sunday the continuous development of bilateral relations between Egypt and Jordan.

Al-Sisi’s remarks came during a phone call with Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein.

The Egyptian president also praised the coordination taking place on various regional and international issues, referring to the positive results of the meetings of the Joint Egyptian Jordanian Higher Committee.

Moreover, King Abdullah expressed his pride in the bilateral relations between Egypt and Jordan in light of the permanent coordination between the leaderships of the two countries.

He also stressed his country’s aspiration to enhance the frameworks of bilateral cooperation at various levels, hailing the work achieved by the Egyptian-Jordanian Committee.

Additionally, the Egyptian presidency’s spokesperson Bassam Rady stated that both leaders discussed a number of bilateral cooperation fields as well as exchanging views regarding developments in regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Last week, the 30th session of the Joint Egyptian-Jordanian Higher Committee was held in Cairo, in which both sides discussed means of strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries on the political, economic, trade exchange, transportation, education, agriculture, energy, specifications and standards, and customs levels.

During the meetings, Jordan and Egypt signed a number of memoranda of understanding and executive programmes in the fields of logistics, plant quarantining, higher education, youth work, and media.
