Egypt celebrates the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on 29 November every year.

In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt salutes this day in solidarity with the steadfast people of Palestine, and in confirmation of the presence of the Palestinian cause alive and present in international forums and in the world conscience, which stands in support of the Palestinian people in their just and legitimate demands and their right to establish their independent state.

The statement added that the Egyptian government and people, as a matter of historical responsibility, have always supported the Palestinian cause as the central issue of the Arab nation.

Egypt stressed that the fundamentals of its position towards the Palestinian cause have not changed, and its commitment to its responsibility towards the cause of Palestine, the Palestinian people, Jerusalem and its Al-Aqsa Mosque is genuine, and it will exert every effort to help the Palestinian people gain their legitimate rights to establish their independent state.

It reaffirmed that the Palestinian question will always be the first Arab issue, without which there can be no real regional stability in the Middle East without a just and comprehensive settlement on the basis of the two-State solution and the relevant resolutions of international legitimacy.

Egypt stressed the need to put an end to the cycle of violence in the occupied Palestinian territories and to stop taking unilateral measures that undermine the fair and final settlement of issues of the final solution, foremost of which are illegal settlement, the policies of expulsion and evacuation of Palestinians in Jerusalem, changing the demographic character of the city and the temporal and spatial division of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and its surroundings.
