42k books sold as part of ‘Your Culture is Your Book’ initiative at 53rd Cairo Book Fair

The ‘Your Culture is Your Book’ initiative that was launched by Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem topped the list of sales at the 53rd edition of the Cairo International Book Fair, where about 42,000 books were sold.

The initiative included the publishing of various books, including ‘A Testimony of Right’, ‘The Prosecution of Aleppo’, ‘Challenges of the 21st Century’, ‘Geography of Egypt’, and five editions of the ‘Mohammadiyah’ books.

The initiative was launched last year in order to develop awareness and enrich collective thought. It includes a collection of distinguished publications from the various sectors of the Ministry of Culture, and the price of each of the books does not exceed EGP 20.

The 53rd edition of the Cairo International Book Fair, which is held every year in January, kicked off last Thursday for visitors and will run until 7 February.

The fair is held in the Egypt International Exhibition Centre (EIEC) in the Fifth Settlement in New Cairo.

Visitors can attend the activities of the fair between 10am and 8pm every day. A total of 1,063 publishers are participating in this edition of the fair.
