Ministry of Foreign Affairs follows up on Russian industrial zone project in Egypt

Egypt’s Ambassador to Moscow, Nazih Al-Najari, has met with Daniil Algulian, Deputy Chairperson and Board Member of the Russian State Development Corporation (RSDC), where the two sides discussed the ongoing steps to complete all necessary procedures to start the implementation of the Russian industrial zone project (VEB.FR) in Egypt in the coming months.

Al-Najari said that this project is of great interest to the two countries, pointing out that it was agreed during the meeting to strengthen joint coordination between the concerned authorities in Egypt and Russia to start the implementation of the first phase of the project during the first half of next year.

It was also agreed to organize a number of events to promote the project, its objectives and the economic opportunities it offers.

For his part, the deputy chairman and board member of the RSDC expressed the great interest that Russia attaches to this project.

He pointed out that many Russian investors have already expressed their desire to invest in the Russian industrial zone project in Egypt, in light of the economic opportunities it provides to enhance the penetration of Russian products to new markets.
