Egypt, AIPEX discuss strengthening joint cooperation

Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, has met with António Henriques Da Silva, President of the Agency for Private Investment and Promotion of Exports (AIPEX), as part of the former’s participation in the Bloomberg New Economies Forum, which was held in Singapore from 16-19 November.

During the meeting, the Minister touched on opportunities to enhance economic cooperation with Angola, in light of the Egyptian tendency to achieve regional integration with the African continent, and to support development opportunities in the countries of the continent, through government initiatives, in addition to the investments implemented by the private sector in many countries of the continent in various areas of development.

Al-Mashat discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of sustainable agriculture, by benefiting from the experiences implemented by Egypt with multilateral and bilateral development partners, and benefiting from them in advancing development efforts in Angola.

The Minister stressed the importance of enhancing trade exchange and economic cooperation between the countries of the African continent, as the African Free Trade Agreement is the largest in the world, pointing to the efforts made by Egypt to activate this agreement through development projects such as the Cairo-Cape Town road.
