Egypt’s Tourism Minister follows up on preparations for major celebration in Luxor

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Khaled El-Anany, held a meeting with officials of the company executing the celebration that will be organised in Luxor governorate during. The event aims to promote tourism and highlight its tourism and archaeological components.

Egypt has been preparing for a huge celebration to promote Luxor city as a major tourist destination.

Notably, the project to discover and prepare the Road of Rams in Luxor is one of the most important archaeological projects undertaken by the state. The project aims to transform Luxor into the largest open museum in the world, by linking the temples of Karnak, Luxor, Mut and the ruins of ancient Thebes.

During the meeting, the latest developments in work and preparations for this celebration were discussed.

The company’s officials also presented a presentation that included pictures and videos of decorations, artistic elements and promotional materials that will be used to decorate streets, squares and markets in Luxor.

As well as the designs of clothes and costumes that will be worn by the participants in the celebration, and the songs and music accompanying them.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, the CEO of the General Authority for Tourism Activation, the Minister’s assistants for projects and technical affairs, the Minister’s advisor for museum exhibition, and the General Supervisor of the General Department of International Relations and Agreements in the Ministry.
