Egypt’s PM Madbouly inspects development projects in Alexandria

Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inspected, on Saturday, a number of development projects in Alexandria governorate.

Cabinet Spokesperson Nader Saad stated that the PM reviewed the ongoing development works in various roads of Alexandria, including Mahmoodiah and El-Taameer axes.

Vice-President of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, Major General Ahmed Al-Azzazi, indicated that the reconstruction of El-Taameer axis serves the ongoing expansions in the ports of Alexandria and connects the city with the coastal road.

Meanwhile, the Mahmoodiah axis aims to provide a fast and safe route that connects Alexandria with the governorates of Beheira and Kafr El-Sheikh, to be an effective alternative of Cairo-Alexandria agricultural road.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of this traffic axes as a free artery linking the heart of Alexandria with its current and future urban extension, pointing out that the development projects in Alexandria are consistent with the state’s vision towards expanding the implementation of traffic axes and raising their efficiency as a main pillar for achieving development.

Moreover, Madbouly had also visited Montazah district during his inspection tour in Alexandria.

Madbouly stressed the state’s keenness to develop all distinctive sites, pointing out that the Montazah area enjoys a unique and charming location, and has many elements to be a distinctive tourist destination that attracts visitors.

The project to develop Montazah district includes the restoration process of the historical and architectural monument of the SalamlekPalace, and its unique Andalusian garden courtyard, which will be used as a hotel.

The Engineering Authority will also establish a Royal Train Museum, this project depends on re-using the Royal Train garage as a museum in which the Royal Train will be displayed along with some royal possessions.

The PM also reviewed the project to develop the area surrounding the Tea Island and the Marine Sports Club, which aims to restore life to the area, as well as developing sports and recreational games in the area while preserving the historical architectural style of the royal kiosk and the surrounding area.

The Tea Island is the green heart of El Montazah Park, which is an agricultural area It is an area overlooking the royal fish farms, the western area of the island’s beach, as well as the ancient Alexandria lighthouse the latest engineering designs while preserving the tree character of the gardens of the Montazah Palace. The island is also characterized by a direct view of the sports areas and marine services, which makes it a suitable choice for recreation, and a distinctive destination for visitors to the park.
