AOI, SAMCO partner to establish manufacturing projects in Egypt, wider region

The Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) has signed a cooperation protocol with the construction company, SAMCO Group, to implement national projects in Egypt and the wider African and Arab regions.

AOI Chairperson Abdel Moneim El-Terras stressed the importance of utilising the national manufacturing capabilities to implement national development projects. 

He noted that an agreement was made regarding cooperation and integration to implement national projects in accordance with Egypt’s Vision 2030.

He added that it was also agreed upon between the two sides to coordinate efforts and exchange experiences to deepen the manufacture of machines and equipment for smart car parking lots in Egypt. This will take place in cooperation with the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) and the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

He highlighted that training capabilities available at AOI and SAMCO will be made use of to create qualified staff members in various fields of industry.

El-Terras pointed out that it is essential to create joint integration in many industries, including the rubber, stainless steel, fibre industry, and modern building materials sectors, alongside other different areas of development.

He said that he agreed to form a joint committee with SAMCO to study the implementation of future projects in Egypt and across Africa and the Arab region.

El-Terras also said that this cooperation will generate many jobs for young engineers and technicians. It will provide training and provide them with the chance to acquire modern skills and experiences in accordance with the standards of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

For his part, Sameh Mohamed Soliman, Chairperson and CEO of SAMCO Group, noted the importance of strengthening cooperation with the AOI as the country’s industrial backer. 

This will include making use of the AOI’s technological expertise to increase the rates of local manufacturing and localise modern technology in many industries.
