Egypt, Libya discuss strengthening bilateral relations

Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry held a telephone conversation, on Saturday, with the Libyan Government of National Unity’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Najla Al-Manqoush.

Ahmed Hafez, Spokesperson for Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the phone call touched on ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as exchange views on the latest developments in Libya.

It also reviewed the full implementation of the outcomes of the Libyan political dialogue and the relevant Security Council resolution in a way that would ensure the stability and prosperity of Libya and its people.

Shoukry also extended an invitation to his Libyan counterpart to visit Egypt at the earliest opportunity, to continue consultations and coordination regarding strengthening the pillars of stability in Libya. Al-Manqoush accepted the invitation, with a date to be set shortly.
