President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi on Thursday said the African countries have the political will to push forward the reform and modernisation efforts in all economic axes, to reflect on the lives of the peoples of the continent.

Al-Sisi made his remarks at the opening session of the Afro-Japanese Business Forum held on the sidelines of the 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) in Yokohama, Japan.

The president said the African countries are well aware that the ambitious 2063 development agenda will not be successful without raising the efficiency of the continent’s infrastructure through giant cross-border projects.

On the sidelines of the TICAD7, Al-Sisi also met with the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and discussed numerous regional and international issues. They addressed the situation in Libya and the UN and African Union efforts for reaching political solutions for different conflicts in Africa.

President Al-Sisi stressed Egypt’s aspiration to continue cooperation and coordination with the UN to enhance its essential role in developing countries, as well as financing the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Africa.
