Two Vietnamese tourists killed, 12 injured in bus explosion near Giza Pyramids

Two Vietnamese tourists were killed and 12 other people were injured in an explosion targeting tourist bus near Giza Pyramids on Friday, according to a statement by the Ministry of Interior.

A roadside IED was planted in Al-Marioutiya street and went off when the bus, carrying 14 Vietnamese, passed.

An Egyptian driver and a representative of the tourism company were among the passengers.

Security forces arrived at the scene immediately and investigations are ongoing, the statement noted.

Egypt’s Prime Minister, Moustafa Madbouly, went to visit the injured, who were transferred to the Al-Haram hospital.
