The National Bank of Egypt, Banque Misr, and Banque du Caire officials met with representatives of the Ministry of Tourism and the head of the religious tourism committee of the Egyptian Travel Agencies Association (ETAA). During the meeting, they agreed to have the three banks secure the needed Saudi riyals to cover the expenses of tourism companies operating in the Hajj season this year.

The aim of the decision is to facilitate procedures for these tourism companies. Pilgrims will be obliged to reserve flights in Egyptian pounds only, according to the mechanisms that will be available to all companies through the ETAA.

The three banks also indicated their willingness to meet all the pilgrims’ needs for Saudi riyals after providing the Hajj documents, which include a valid passport, travel visa, and airline ticket.
