IMF, CBE, government to host inclusive growth and job creation conference on May

Amr El-Garhy, Egypt would receive another part of the IMF’s loan, this one worth $1.25bn

The International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) along with the Egyptian government, will co-host a high-level conference in Cairo, on May 5-6. According to a press statement issued by the IMF on Friday.

The conference aims to promote higher economic growth and job creation in Egypt to meet the needs of Egypt’s young and growing population,

Furthermore, according to the IMF, the event is an acknowledgement of the successes in macroeconomic stabilization that Egypt has achieved, and will help in building consensus among stakeholders around the future reforms.

Through connecting international, and Egyptian high-level policymakers and other experts, the conference aims to shed light on global best practices and successful relevant reform experiences that can help Egypt in addressing its medium-term challenges.

Moreover, conference speakers will include; Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, IMF First Deputy Managing Director David Lipton, CBE Governor Tarek Amer and Minister of Finance Amr El-Garhy.
