Head of French senate arrives to Egypt to meet with Al-Sisi

Gérard Larcher, president of the French senate, arrived to Egypt on Sunday in an official visit accompanied by a delegation of five French members of parliament, to meet with President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and other state officials.

The aim of the visit is to discuss Egypt’s role and effort in maintaining stability in the Arab region.

The visit will last for three days, as Larcher will also meet with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, parliamentary speaker Ali Abdul Aal, and Arab League secretary general Ahmed Aboul Gheit.

The delegation will also meet Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed Al-Tayeb and Pope Tawadros II, the head of Egypt’s Coptic Orthodox Church.
